Matt, Best of…2008

Posted on February 9, 2009 by Matt

Movie: “Battle Royal”. Japanese dystopian future. Brilliant themes, cinematography, and intriguing story. Fairly bloody, not for the weak of heart. If you haven’t seen it. Watch it. Try to know as little about it as you can before you see it. (note: this movie has been out for a few years, but it was the best movie i saw this last year. If i had to pic a 2009 movie, i would say Iron Man or WallE)

Song: “Baba O’Riley” by the Who. Awesome intro, wonderful instruments, just a money song.

Book: “Prelandera” By none other then “jack” or rather C.S Lewis

Best Video Game: “Braid”, without a doubt. Challenging and aesthetically pleasing with great music

Best TV show: “Bones.”

Best funniest moment: The blister and mannequin scenes from “Run Fatboy Run.” And how much Snotface was laughing at them!

Best hangout place: er…Starbucks (There’s a shocker.) Close second, “Silver City” mmmm Ridgetop red and Tillamook Nachos.

Best Kiss: hmm, i kissed two people this last year. Both were quite unexpected and nice, we will go with a tie on this one. Want to know more, you’ll have to email me 🙂

Best Date: im gonna go with a tie for this one too

Best Moment: Staring off the cliffs into the vast Mediterranean sea.

Best Surprise: Getting a free trip to Spain

Best new friend: Snotface

Best new student: Ed the fed

Best new piece of clothing/apparel: My Oakley belt

Best News: My book turned out the way i wanted and will be published soon!

Best reconnection of old friend: Bar

Best meal: Probably, the rice meal thing we ate in Spain

Best drink: Sangria!

Best Scariest moment: Running with the Bulls in Pamplona

Best idea: Walking to work when the weather is nice and using that time to pray.

Best job speaking: Sermon at Church, on the importance of submission to God.

2008 Recap:

Good year. Was consistent both in working out and in my studies, and got much accomplished in both categories. My family (and dog) is all healthy and striving. There is very little enmity between me and my fellow man, but rather there is lots of love. Truly, the LORD is good. He has proved his faithfulness and goodness once again!

Goals for 2009:

  1. Go back to Spain
  2. Get my book published and distributed
  3. Get a godly girlfriend
  4. Get in awesome shape
  5. Have 100 sermons on my webpage
  6. Finish at least one of the other books im working on.
  7. And seek Him with all my heart, mind, soul, and strength
