All the world…

All the world before me Lord and what would you have me do? What is more beautiful, the adventure and newness of travel or the unique beauty only permanence can bring? To travel is to give away your right to home, consistency, and at times “rest.” Permanence has these things but not the wonder that travels bring. Lord, at the end of my life will I meander, “I wish I would have traveled more,” or “I wish I would’nt have been so grounded.” Each a price, each a prize. And each a different beauty.

The writer of Ecclesiastes said, “Thus I have considered all the works my hands had done, and all the labor i had exerted and behold all was vanity and striving after the wind.” If I am married to the road or to a woman these words will never fall from my lips. Means and type of service are my concern…but not “if.” Lord, you have my heart and whatever direction you pull me to, I will serve you with a vigorous ferver. Till breath has faded and flesh gone cold I will serve you and seek you.

“Here I am, send me.” Send me or keep me here. Neither is displeasing. The only displeasure I can muster is separation from you…from Your will. LORD, I would give all that I have and all that I am just to know you more…

for love and peace
